This post originally appeared on VisitRehoboth.com. If you’re a dog owner, most nights out begin with the look. You know the one…You pick up your keys, your dog’s ears perk up, and their entire face asks the same question: “Am I coming, too?” Usually, you have to deliver the devastating news that, no, this particular adventure is for humans only… But Muttini Mixer at the Beach changes that all!
You’re coming this time, pup… Let’s party!
Humane Animal Partners’ beloved New Castle County signature event Muttini Mixer is trading the city for the sand and making its beach debut on Wednesday, September 23rd at Children’s Beach House in Lewes! And the best part? Your favorite four-legged friends are free with their paid humans! Muttini Mixer at the Beach welcomes animal lovers and their pups for an unforgettable night of food, drinks, music, auctions, and fun… all in support of animals and the people who love them!
A New Setting for a HAP Favorite
Now in its 13th year, Muttini Mixer celebrates the lifesaving work of Humane Animal Partners alongside the special bond we share with our pets. It’s an opportunity to dress up, sip a cocktail, catch up with friends, and support a meaningful cause…without leaving your pup at home!
This year, HAP is bringing everything guests love about Muttini to a fresh new setting: dune-side at Children’s Beach House.
The move brings a whole new wave of energy to one of HAP’s longest-running signature events while introducing Muttini to even more animal lovers throughout Delaware. Located right along the Delaware Bay in Lewes, Children’s Beach House offers beautiful indoor and outdoor spaces where guests can stretch their paws, breathe in the coastal air, and soak up one last sip of summer. (Pro tip: make the climb to the second floor for the most spectacular sunset view!)
Whether you’re a longtime Muttini regular making the trip south or a local pet lover experiencing the event for the first time, this year’s beach bash promises plenty of opportunities to mix, mingle, and make memories with your pup by your side.
Your Dog Deserves a Night Out, Too
Let’s be honest: our dogs are there for nearly every other part of our lives. They join us for morning walks, weekend errands, lazy afternoons, road trips, and more than a few conversations they probably weren’t supposed to hear… It only seems fair that they get to join us for cocktail hour every once in a while too!
At Muttini Mixer at the Beach, dogs aren’t an afterthought, they’re part of the party! In fact, don’t be surprised if yours steals the show.
Guests can stroll the grounds, play yard games on the beach, listen to live music, and mingle with fellow animal lovers alongside their canine companions, while they indulge in delicious food and an open bar with Dogfish Head beer, wine, and signature cocktails sponsored by Tito’s Handmade Vodka, the Vodka for Dog People!
Your pup can make new friends while you catch up with yours. Pose for a few adorable photos, enjoy the waterfront setting, and take in the delightful sight of a room filled with wagging tails. After all, any party is better when dogs are invited.
Food, Music, Auctions, and a Little Friendly Competition
Of course, the pups aren’t the evening’s only attraction.
Muttini Mixer at the Beach will feature live entertainment, delicious eats, craft cocktails, beachside games, and plenty of opportunities to explore. Guests can browse an exciting selection of silent auction packages throughout the evening before turning their attention to the live auction.
This year’s live auction will include an incredible one-week stay in Argentina, along with other luxury experiences worth raising a paddle for. Whether you’re dreaming about your next getaway, looking for a special experience, or simply enjoy a little friendly bidding competition, you’ll have the chance to take something memorable home while supporting a lifesaving cause.
Party With a Purpose
Muttini Mixer may be built around a seriously fun night out, but its impact reaches far beyond the beach!
Proceeds directly support Humane Animal Partners’ work to connect people and pets through adoption services, low-cost veterinary care, and community outreach programs. These initiatives include affordable vaccine and wellness clinics, spay/neuter and specialty surgeries, a free pet food pantry, and pet-retention resources designed to help families care for and stay together with the animals they love.
Every ticket purchased, bid placed, and sponsorship secured helps HAP provide shelter, medical care, fresh starts, and ongoing support to pets and families throughout Delaware.
That means you can enjoy a cocktail by the beach, dance to some music, spoil your pup with a special night out, and know that you’re helping other animals find, and remain with, loving families. That’s our kind of party!
