LUCKY’S JOURNEY🐶🧡🍀 This beautiful girl came to us under heartbreaking circumstances, found tied to the gate of our shelter, pregnant and alone.

We rushed Lucky Charm inside to make sure shewas okay and to check on her babies with an ultrasound. Thankfully, everyone appeared healthy and our priority shifted to finding her a safe place to have her pups. One of our amazing and experienced fosters opened their home to Lucky, giving her the comfort and care she needed. Just a few days later, it was time! Lucky gave birth to seven beautiful, healthy puppies. From day one, she was a devoted mother, constantly checking on her little ones and showering them with affection. She treated her puppies like her best friends, and it was clear she was meant to be loved and to love in return.

Now that her pups are grown and getting ready for adoption, it’s Lucky’s turn to start her own next chapter, and she’s more than ready. Lucky is an incredible companion with so much love to give. Despite everything she’s been through, she remains sweet, playful, and eager to connect. She has a calm, easygoing nature at home, but she still gets the zoomies and delights in playtime. She adores her toys, especially the kind she can de-stuff, and loves chewing on bones during her downtime.

Lucky knows basic commands, walks beautifully on a leash, responds to her name, and listens well, especially when treats are involved! She is also crate-trained, house-trained, and wonderfully well-mannered indoors. She’s currently in foster care with another dog and has been doing great, her behavior has been nothing short of loving and positive. Lucky would thrive in a home where she can be part of a family and soak up all the love she deserves. She’s young, resilient, and full of heart, truly a once-in-a-lifetime kind of dog. If you’re looking for a loyal, gentle, and joyful companion, Lucky just might be your perfect match.

THANK YOU DANNY🥹❤️ Earlier this spring, we shared a Kitten Season wishlist with about 200 items to help provide food, supplies, and medicine for the kittens and mommas in our care.

Just two weeks ago, our team checked the list and noticed something incredible. Over 150 items had been purchased overnight, completely clearing out the wishlist! When we looked to see who had made this amazing donation, we found a note simply signed, “Danny.” No last name. No contact information.

Though we have no way of thanking Danny directly, we hope this message somehow reaches you. Your generosity has left our team absolutely speechless. Danny, whoever and wherever you are, please know how deeply grateful we are for your kindness. Your support means the world to us, and to every little life you’ve helped!

SWEET SNOWBALL 🐶❄️💙 This #HAPWoofWednesday we are reintroducing our big baby, miss Snowball!

This goofy girl is a 5.5-year-old mix breed with lots of love to give! Snowball came to HAP when her previous owners could no longer care for her. Adjusting to shelter life hasn’t been easy, but a cozy bed and some extra treats have definitely helped her settle in. Since arriving, she has been a super affectionate girl, melting into everyone she meets! Snowball has quickly become a favorite among staff and volunteers, thanks to her goofy smile and loving personality. She adores people and shows her affection with endless enthusiasm. Snowball has even made some doggy friends too! She’s been a star in playgroup, meeting pups of all sizes and ages. She has also spent some time outside of the shelter through our Doggy Day Out program. Whether it’s cuddles on the couch or jogging through the park, Snowball is just happy to spend time with friends! Check out what our volunteers had to say about her:   “Chilly 3 mile walk this morning with Snowball at Delcastle park! She’s such a cuddle bug - so sweet, so gentle, didn’t pull on the leash once! Barked a few times at some dogs and birds, but overall she was great - tail going the whole time! Also, she is perfect in the car. Had to help her get into my jeep at first but on the way back she hopped in no problem! What a gem!” - Taylor  “Had a lovely day out with Miss Snowball. She is such a nice and well-mannered girl! She rode in the car very well and kept a great pace while walking together. When we took a break towards the end of our walk, she sat right between my legs and put her head on my lap for a rest” - Anna

“Today, I took Snowball out and she was so sweet!! All she wanted to do was snuggle and lay with us, she was so well-behaved! We took a walk around campus and then napped on the couch. We loved having her so much!” - Olivia
