Pet Food Pantry

Our Pet Food Pantry was created to help members of our community who need extra assistance caring for their pets. Our goal is simple: to help pet owners keep their pets in their homes, and to reduce the number of animals surrendered to shelters for financial reasons.

  • If you are in need of pet food, visit HAP Wilmington, Stanton/Christiana, or Rehoboth Beach during regular business hours. We also host occasional drive-through pet food distribution events throughout the community.
  • HAP’s Pet Food Pantry is entirely donation-based. If you would like to contribute to the pantry, you can stop by any of our locations to drop off pet food (canned or dry) and other supplies (such as cat litter) or visit our Wish Lists to easily send us food right from your home! You can also consider hosting a pet food drive at your school, work, or place of worship.

Important Guidelines

To ensure we can help as many families as possible, we kindly ask that you keep the following in mind:

  • This pantry is meant to be a temporary resource to help pet owners through difficult times. Please do not rely on it as your primary or ongoing food source for your pets.
  • Limit visits to once per month so we can stretch our supplies to help all who need it.
  • This program is intended for family pets only. It is not available to individuals breeding pets or seeking assistance for litters of puppies or kittens.
  • Supplies are available as inventory allows; we cannot guarantee specific products or brands.

We appreciate your cooperation and understanding as we work to serve everyone fairly and compassionately.
