Doggy Day Out (DDO) is a short-term foster program where community members take a shelter dog for an offsite adventure! These field trips include hikes, walks, and other fun outings to help pups manage kennel stress, burn off energy, and get exposure to potential adopters.
Doggy Day Out is offered at the following locations:
- HAP Stanton/Christiana: On pause for our building renovation
- HAP Wilmington: July 12th, 2024 Update: Our Wilmington location is currently treating several dogs for an upper respiratory virus. For this reason, Doggy Day Out is postponed for 30 days, along with adoptions and intakes. If you are interested in participating once we re-open, apply today to begin onboarding!
Participating in this program requires minimal training. Anyone interested should complete a short questionnaire below and we will reach out to you with the next steps.
