celebrating 150 years of lifesaving work

Join us on Thursday, November 16 at the Delaware Museum of Nature & Science for our 150th anniversary gala! Although our name changed in 2022 following the merger of Delaware SPCA and Delaware Humane Association (DHA), our collective history dates back to 1873! Our work remains the same: to give dogs and cats the unconditional love they have always given us.

Be A Hap Hero

Since the majority of our operational funding comes directly from donors, it’s your support that proves essential for the vital care, programs, and services that we provide to over 4,000 lives every year.

Get Involved

Calling all animal people! Our volunteers are an essential part of HAP. Whether you’re walking dogs, scooping litter boxes, answering phones or assisting with laundry, each task you do directly helps us to save animals’ lives.
