KITTY KIM ❤️🎊🐱 As we approach the end of National Volunteer Appreciation Week, we have to show some love to a foster parent that goes above and beyond!

Kim has been volunteering with HAP for nearly 7 years, but if you ask anyone at HAP they’ll tell you she’s been here forever! Kim is our top kitten foster in HAP Wilmington and loves caring for bottle babies. At the shelter, we frequently get calls and walk-ins with small kittens, especially during this time of the year. Since these babies require more extensive care and their immune systems are very fragile, we rely on our foster parents to help them stay healthy. In 2023, Kim fostered over 30 kittens and newborns with HAP, saving many little lives in need!

What we love most about Kim is her selflessness and passion for saving lives. There have been many times Kim has multiple kittens or litters, always opening her home and heart to babies in need. At times, the shelter is low on supplies for these babies and Kim has donated supplies, so that other foster families can have whatever they need from the shelter to foster. We are so thankful to have such a dedicated, passionate, knowledgeable, and loving volunteer supporting not only our babies but also the work we do. THANK YOU KIM💜🎉👏

WE 🩷 THIS FAMILY! The MacElrevey family has been volunteering with HAP for nearly 10 years!

Dana and Daniel have opened not only their hearts, but also their home to dozens of animals in need over the years. Their favorite fosters ave been challenging but fun, puppies!! While we love all of our fosters, it takes a top tier level of patience to always have a little one in your home, so we appreciate their dedication to our youngsters. The MacElrevey family has adopted their doggos from HAP, so their fosters always have a buddy to play and exercise with too! Dana and Dan will help train basic manners and socialize their foster puppies, which is crucial for when they reach adulthood! In addition to fostering,

Dana and Dan frequently volunteer both on-site and at local community events! From walking dogs around the neighborhood to snuggly in our playroom, they offer compassion and care to every furbaby they meet. At events, they share information about our animals with potential adopters and provide resources for local communities. Additionally, Dana loves to clean, which means we absolutely love having her around! With dozens of animals, things can get messy very quickly. Dana and Dan have donated countless supplies to help us keep our shelter looking beautiful! They recently donated large laundry bins to help keep our hallways organized, which has been a huge help!

Lastly, we have to shout out one of our favorite women, Madison MacElrevey, who worked at HAP Rehoboth Beach before joining the Peace Corps!! We thank the MacElrevey family for their continued support and incredible love for animals, we are so grateful to have you! THANK YOU❤️👏🎉
